• We arrive 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time and begin to perform prelude music as guests are being seated
  • We play throughout the ceremony and as guests are exiting the venue as well
  • Ceremonious Strings specializes in writing arrangements of unique tunes! We can try to accommodate special song requests, as long as ample time is provided for us to locate the music or create an arrangement- an additional fee is required if the music is not in our current library- there is a lot!
  • Popular music is able to be played on string instruments. However, sheet music is not always readily available. Keep in mind, when choosing ceremony music, that not ALL popular songs sound as good on strings! In addition, it is important to keep in mind that many religious institutions do not allow non-liturgical music during ceremonies
  • Upon booking with us, a contract will be sent to you and signed to ensure all services and needs are met

Why Choose Us?

Follow Me

Choosing the right ensemble for your special event is important and the abundance of information and variety of groups to choose from can be overwhelming.
What sets ceremonious strings apart from the rest?

  • We are an established group of players! The vast majority of "wedding music" vendors are composed of sub-contracted players.  Each of the players in
Ceremonious Strings has worked under other wedding contractors and experienced the
negative effects of these "throw together" ensembles.
Many times, a random group of musicians is put together and
performs for the first time at YOUR wedding!! Our musicians play together as a group and
have been practicing and performing alongside each other for the past 10 years. We are a solid team!!

  • Ceremonious Strings was honored to work with Jenny Orsini Events in bringing comedian Tracy Morgan's wedding vision to life at the Ashford Estate in August 2015! The ensemble performed as a string trio for the ceremony and cocktail hour. As quoted in the Winter 2016 issue of "Inside Weddings" Tracy stated "My impression of the wedding was that this was one for the ages: the dancing, the music, the people, the love."

  • You can find Ceremonious Strings in several editions of NJ Bride Magazine too!

  • We write our own music! Many string groups offer the same "song" titles-- Ceremonious Strings takes a lot of this music and rearranges it specifically to fit the sound of a string trio!

  • We bring custom audio equipment to enhance the sound of the strings for
cocktail hour bookings- you want your guests to hear your music as they enjoy hor d’oeuvres and cocktails!
