General Information About Our Ensembles
My name is Jaime Chavan and I am the owner of Ceremonious Strings. Established in 2004, Ceremonious Strings is dedicated to providing you with the finest ensemble of musicians for your special day. This page is designed to give you some information about our ensembles and what we have to offer. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Personal Information and Music Background
Over the past 15 years I have done extensive study on the cello, and I consider it a large part of my life. I graduated in May 2008 from Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey, with my undergraduate bachelor's: Degrees in Music, K-12 Music Education, K-5 Elementary Education, and Special Education. In September 2008 I was hired by the Southern Regional School District, where I currently teach Middle School and High School Orchestra, as well as 7th grade Music Appreciation. In addition, I run an afterschool strings program at the Stafford Intermediate School. I also teach private cello/violin lessons to 14 students. This Summer 2009, I will be starting my Masters in Education/School Counseling at Georgian Court University.
Over the years, I have performed with various music ensembles
which include: Central and South Jersey Regions Orchestra, New Jersey All-State
Orchestra, The Rutgers University Philharmonia, and The Georgian Court
University Orchestra. In the past I have done internships with the Garden State
Youth Orchestra, and I have also served as guest conductor for the New Jersey
Youth Orchestra Chamber Ensemble. Currently, I perform as the co-principle
cellist of the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra,
and on occasion, with the Orchestra of St.
Peter.
General Information
Ceremonious Strings provides music for wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours. We have a variety of musical selections, which can be found in the "repertoire" section of this site. For each ceremony, we arrive at least a half hour early to set-up, and we begin playing as guests arrive. We perform for the ceremony, and also as guests leave the area. For cocktail hours, we perform a variety of classical and popular pieces.
